Who are we?
The Phoenix Music Club is currently managed by a team of 3 volunteers:
Abi Gibbens
Abi has been involved in Phoenix since the early days, working on marketing, venue & front-of-house, evaluation and outreach. She still does all of this and now looks after the books as well.
Away from Phoenix, Abi's trying to start up a fair-trade coffee-shop, she volunteers with refugees and asylum-seekers, dances morris and makes sock monsters,
Mark Gibbens
Mark was one of the three founder members of Phoenix and continues to work on most stuff, including marketing & design, event programming, venue & front-of-house, lighting and sound, etc.
He's a web developer by day, managing his own business Seed IT, who kindly built this website. In his spare time, he dances morris and rapper and plays recorder, moothie and bagpipes. And, yes: his neighbours love him.
Robin Hoare
Robin gallantly got involved with Phoenix in 2006 to help us get it back up and running (blimey, has it take that long?!). Robin works on our event programming, venue liaison, marketing, sound and technical stuff, and loads more.
An established professional blues musician in his own right, Robin has a lot of experience with Sheffield's gig scene and as a live music promoter in the city. He's also a professional guitar teacher.
And honours go out to...
Simon Heywood, Jo Maher, Steve Fotios and Jemma Gurney; all of whom have managed Phoenix in the past and helped make it what it is today.
