This is the second of our two re-launch events. Over the summer we'll be be booking another ambitious and even bigger season of events for the Autumn. So make the most of it. Join us for another stunning line-up. As people have often said about Phoenix, "something you love, something new, and something to dance to!"

Seize the Day

Bold, beautiful, front-line folk, Seize The Day are a multi-talented band with their own unique way of getting their message across with their lively, upbeat, hypnotic music.

"Seize the Day made a big impact at Towersey - with a strong stage presence, songs that make themselves heard and an appetite to play wherever and whenever. One of a kind!"
Alan Bearman Towersey Village Festival

Easthanded

East Handed are fronted by singer-guitarist Vesna Panic, who draws on the ancient Yugoslavian folk song repertoire for her inspiration. Vesna's distinctive voice is complemented by the lower tones of Lindsay Aitkenhead's acrobatic viola. The viola puts the jazz in Balkan music, pulling the strings that move your feet! Meanwhile, a funky bass 'n' drums rhythm section keeps those complex Balkan beats rocking.

Chechelele

An a capella choir from York, Chechelele specialise in world folk music, drawing heavily from Africa and the Balkans. They sing songs about harvesting and famine, love and death, sickness and war, slavery and emancipation, and women fighting about fish.

And more!

And as if that stompingly good triple-headliner isn't enough, we'll be squeezing in as much other stuff as we've got time for - so Phoenix will be just as action-packed as ever!
