3 July 2008 - Seize the Day, East Handed, Chechele, and more...

Did you miss us last month? Or were you there for the party? Whichever way, next week at the Phoenix Music Club we have yet another spankingly good line up to delight your ears and tickle your rhythm muscles...

For your delectation and delight...

CHECHELELE - a capella world choral extravaganza.

EAST HANDED - with their sublime Balkan song, acrobatic viola and infectious beats

SEIZE THE DAY - Bold, beautiful front line folk -"From hauntingly beautiful ballads, to highly addictive protest anthems... the greenest band in the land." (Green World, UK Green Party Magazine)

We're also pleased to welcome a couple of late additions to the programme - Clarke Buehling is celebrated worldwide for his insightful interpretations of late 19th century classic finger-style banjo and is on the forefront of a surge of interest in the earlier minstrel banjo style. As well as Clarke's foot-tapping old-time tunes, we hope nationally acclaimed story-teller Simon Heywood will be able to join us - a gifted wordsmith who beautifully transposes story to song.

And....

And cake. More, mouth-wateringly delicious, home-made cake.

DO tell your friends, and DON'T be the one who hears about it afterwards and thinks darn I wish I'd gone to that...

So, Thursday 3rd July, at the Companions Club, Barnsley Road, Sheffield. Doors open 7.30pm. Tickets on the door £8/£5
