Autumn season cancelled! Sorry

We are very sorry to have to announce that there will be *no* Phoenix events this autumn. We had a great season planned for you all, but unfortunately have just received notice that our venue, the Companion's Club, has had to close.

It had also become clear that our small but dedicated team of volunteers were struggling to be able to support the Phoenix venture. So if anybody feels they may be able to help us carry on, we would love to hear from you.
We are working on an alternative strategy, but it may be a while. One possibility is for a smaller, scaled down event at another location. Please feel free to email us with your ideas, offers and suggestions, and above all, please stick with us!

If you loved our summer events, then why not check out GondwanaSound.com for more and similar fun to keep your spirits up until Phoenix returns...

Renowned storyteller Simon Heywood, who regailed us all in July with his energetic telling of Jack the Giant Killer, is back in Sheffield this month together with Nick Hennessey and The Middle Yard. You can catch them at the Library Theatre, Friday 24 October, 2008 at 7.30pm as part of Off the Shelf Literature Festival. Tickets selling fast, get yours now!

Also, on the 19th October, a fantastic concert at the City hall, to mark 50 years of Roy Bailey! Featuring Tony Benn, John KirkPatrick (he's played at Phoenix y'know), Martin Simpson, Nancy Kerr & James Fagan and many more. Tickets for this selling very fast indeed.

That's all for now. Again we are very very sorry to disapoint you all, but please bear with us.

Best wishes
The Phoenix Team
